Technical Program Abstract:

Planning and Scheduling for Workplace Safety

Workplace safety and project scheduling have sometimes been seen as obstacles to each other’s success.  The authors believe that they are not opponents. This paper will examine how traditional planning and scheduling processes affect workplace safety, and contrast this with how workplace safety measures may influence the planning and scheduling process.  Authored by seasoned experts from the building construction industry with specialties in both scheduling and safety, this presentation will outline the positive correlation between site safety and schedule performance. (Originally presented as a part of the 2022 Planning & Scheduling Symposium.)
