Building the Florida DoT’s Tentative Work Program - One Project’s Journey

The purpose of the Florida Department of Transportation Tentative Work Program is to provide management direction and legislative budget proposals on where and when to construct transportation system improvement.  “Tentative work program” is a 5-year listing of all transportation projects planned for each upcoming fiscal year.  This includes planning activities, preliminary engineering, right-of-way acquisition, and construction costs and is used to forecast the necessary funds for improvements across all modes of transportation including: roadway, bicycle, pedestrian, freight, trails, transit, aviation, seaports, and spaceports.
