As you are aware, if you are certified, you must earn 15 or more recertification credits every three years to recertify.  One way you can earn recertification credits is to assist the Certification Board by grading CCC/CCE papers or Part IV exam sections in your specialty.  This can be done at your current location with no travel, and all communication will be handled by e-mail and telephone.

To be accepted as a grader, you must successfully grade a sample paper or Part IV question according to the guidelines provided.  If interested please contact Sandy Willard at swillard@aacei.org or Anna Marie Smith at amsmith@aacei.org.

Section Member Glenn Butts Receives CCTS Technical Achievement Award

Congratulations to North Florida AACEI Section member and member of the Section Board of Directors Glenn C. Butts, CCC, for receiving the 2008 CCTS Technical Achievement Award.

Presented at the recent CCTS Engineers Week Banquet at the Florida Institute of Technology in Melbourne, FL, this prestigious award recognizes outstanding technical accomplishments among CCTS’s 31 Space Coast area technical societies.

Currently a Cost Analysis Officer with NASA at Kennedy Space Center, Butts was honored for an outstanding record of research, development and technical achievement.  This includes creation, documentation, testing and presentation of “Accurate Estimates in a Minute,” an exciting new tool critical to the Constellation space construction program, and authoring the 400-page “Cost Engineering Desk Reference,” soon to be published by NASA.  Butts was also recognized for his professional dedication through leadership within AACEI, and sharing knowledge through many seminar presentations.
