The purpose of any professional certification or licensing program is to provide official and public recognition of the capabilities of an individual in a professional area. Certification is not licensing or registration and does not provide legal authority to practice a profession. Certification indicates demonstrable expertise in the most current skills and knowledge of the profession.

 

AACEi’s Certification Program encompasses specialties in cost estimating, cost control, business planning and management science, profitability analysis, project management, planning and scheduling, and other related cost  management disciplines.

 

In today’s world of intense competition in the workplace, the need for proficiency in the principles and practices of total cost management is the concern of all businesses and companies. Certification is verification of that proficiency. It provides  assurance that the person performing the work is qualified and up-to-date on the latest techniques and has the experience and knowledge to apply them. Certification is an investment in your career.

 

AACEi offers prestigious certifications in the following areas:

 

CCT Certified Cost Technician

Formerly ICC Interim Cost Consultant

 

Certification can prepare you to become a CCC/CCE. It is a program for young professionals who are looking for a way of obtaining outside, third party validation of their skills and knowledge in the cost and schedule areas. It requires four years of experience, and passing two 1-3/4 hour exams.

 

CCE Certified Cost Engineer / CCC Certified Cost Consultant

 

Certification is an internationally recognized designation of a cost professional. It requires eight years of experience, passing of four 1-3/4 hour exams and preparation of an acceptable 2,500-word technical paper on a cost engineering subject.

PSP Planning & Scheduling Professional

 

This program’s intent is to recognize specialists who meet a demanding set of planning and scheduling criteria.  It requires eight years total experience and/or education, and passing four 1-3/4 hour exams.

 

Other Certifications

 

AACEi’s newest certification programs are the Certified Forensic Claims Consultant (CFCC), and the Certified Estimating  Professional (CEP), which is still in BETA.  Other programs include the Certified Portfolio, Program & Project Management (C3PM) Certification, and the Earned Value Professional (EVP) Certification.

 

Local Certification Classes

 

This is a series of review courses designed to prepare you to take the AACEi Certification Exam. Sessions include tips for preparing the technical paper, review of each of the detail sections on the exam, and a general review session covering all sections of the test.  Members will be notified when the next local review courses are scheduled.
